Joining the Ranks: Abolishing IE6

Several months ago I read a post on template club YOOtheme's forums where one of the dev team was getting feedback from club members about potentially removing support for IE6 in the club's templates.  This was at a time when IE7 hadn't been around very long, and the feedback was unsurprisingly against the idea.

New template release - introducing Bold

It's been a fair while since our last template was released - almost one-and-a-half years since "FivePoint Unity" was thrown into the wild for the Joomla! 1.5 template competition.  Boy that is a long time!

I'm always commenting on how fast time flies these days, and this month is no exception - I can't believe that we're done with one-twelfth of 2009 already.  January's been unexpectedly busy, with a couple of deadlines set for the end, plus another new site which cropped up and needed to be designed and built before the month was out.

The Joomla! template club market certainly isn't short of some talent - with top players like RocketTheme, Joomlart and YOOtheme there's plenty to choose from.  NinjaTheme has the backing of several experienced developers from the NinjaForge stable, so promises some exciting features in the future - as well as the fresh set of design styles, we can look forward to integrated themes for NF components, plus support for popular 3rd party add-ons such as MyBlog and VirtueMart.

But most interestingly is the Crowdsourcing idea behind each month's template...
